The inaugural Cardiff Lifestyle Awards were held last week, to celebrate all that’s great about food, drink, entertainment, culture and fashion in our capital.
Broadcast live on Made in Cardiff TV the awards were held in the stunning Portland House on Bute Street down in the Bay. I had no idea behind the traditional exterior such a beautiful room with high ceilings and period details even existed. Definitely worth checking it out if you’re ever looking for a venue.
A glamorous crowd of restaurateurs, boutique owners, club owners and stylists gathered to see who would win the ten accolades up for grabs. There was also a special Cardiff Legend award presented to the Manager of the Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, Richard Archer.
Other winners included: Best Cardiff Bar – The Dead Canary, Best Cardiff Live Experience – Tramshed, Best Cardiff Fashion Retailer – Penny Lane Vintage, Best Cardiff Hair & Beauty – Guy Christian.
A red carpet and backdrop meant we could snap some of the guests as they arrived and the venue looked truly gorgeous with elegant seating and a great lit up ‘Cardiff’ sign.
Ever since I returned to Cardiff at the age of 18 after spending most of my formative years in Australia, I’ve always really loved this city, and it just seems to get better and better. Let’s hope these awards continue to celebrate all that’s truly brilliant about Cardiff.
