I have to admit to having an obsession with the shapes and tailoring from the 1970’s right now, which surprises me.  I’ve often thought that the high waisted, elongated trunk look of the jeans and trousers, the wide collars and the a-line skirts only ever looked good on those blessed with mega-long limbs and slight frames. Gradually, over time though, I’ve come to appreciate the unique aesthetic of the fashion that originated in this decade of diversity and change.

Each generation takes a look back at fashion from the past, and the trend for the ’70’s looks set to stay with us for a while longer – knee high sock boots and laced ankle boots, short boxy jackets, flares as big as you dare and the slightly more questionable pussy-bow shirt.  Take a look at some of my favourite 70’s inspired pieces from the high street  for AW15.
