Cardiff Fashion Week
We thought we’d give you a heads up of some of the events happening in our fair capital very soon, as part of Cardiff Fashion Week. We’re not directly involved, even though we’ve had lots of enquiries, because of our name association, but we’re really pleased to see so many fashion events and happenings going on, which is great for Cardiff and Wales and us fashion lovers of course!
So,here goes: Sponsored by Redrow, the events take place between the 20th and 28th of October and cover everything from a model competition to fashion shows, a student night, high tea and almost everything in between!
The week kicks off with Model Mayhem on Saturday 20th October where some of Wales’ most beautiful models will be seen around Cardiff’s main shopping areas, Boots will be running competitions and giveaways all week long as well as master classes in make-up and facials. There’s a student night at House of Fraser on Tuesday the 23rd October, with music, cocktails, fashion shows and special discounts. The night will also raise funds for charity The Samaritans.
CFW Official Fashion Stylist and local celebrity Wenda James-Rowe along with WM Editor Claire Rees will be running a style workshop and online style clinic on Wednesday the 24th. Debenhams is holding a High Tea, but with champagne instead! on Thursday 25th October. One of the premier events is the WM Gala Show and Cocktail Evening at the Kuku Club, Park Plaza on the 25th, but sadly it’s now sold out.
We’re also pleased to see the brilliant Cardiff Arcades joining in the activities and offering some great events and promotions throughout the week. There’s also an evening event on the 25th in the Morgan Quarter, including a champagne reception (tickets still available), with proceeds going to Velindre Cancer Care.
The week finishes off with what promises to be an impressive catwalk show at St David’s Shopping Centre on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th followed by a night show!
