So many people have said to me recently that they’re looking forward to cooler days so they can start layering up and wearing winter clothes. Autumn and Winter 15/16 certainly does look pretty appealing when it comes to the trends we can look forward to – snakeskin prints, winter florals, patchwork, loads of lovely textures and warm colours, and of course boots! I love winter shoes and especially winter boots.
Low heel chunky ankle boots are my favourite, and I love tan or shades of brown, but a good pair of black ankle boots, chelsea or biker are a real winter staple. My newest boots for this winter are a combination of black boots with an animal print and they’re a great shape for wearing with jeans or with black opaque tights and a skirt or dress.
Flat shoes with edge are also a favourite of mine, as gone are the days when I would wear stilettos or sky high heels. I can bear wedges and chunky platforms, but flats are really coming into their own as more and more brands seem to understand that women wouldn’t mind having a bit of glamorous comfort too. A lot of inspiration on how to look amazing in flats can be seen at this great blog En Brogue by Fashion Features Editor at InStyle magazine Hannah Rochelle.
