We heard about StartUp Fashion a little while ago and have always been impressed by their ambition when it comes to supporting independent fashion brands. We love how they talk about their brand too and say they’re ‘On a mission to help independent fashion brands thrive while doing what makes them happy.’ We think being happy is often ignored as we all strive to be ‘successful’ in our careers, so this appealed to our vision of what ‘work’ should look like.
Nicole Giordano set up StartUp Fashion in 2009 and seems to live by the principles of the community she’s created and says: “I have travelled the world, have lived abroad, and built businesses based on the belief that I have full control over how I use my time on this earth. I want to help independent designers do the same thing.”
The StartUp community has more than 150 global independent brands as members and provides a community membership support system, offline meet-ups in cities around the world, online shopping tools, and a multitude of opportunities for collaboration and partnerships. Even for non-members there’s loads of useful info on the site including helpful Fashion Guides and Books, Fashion Business Templates and much more.
If you’re an independent or emerging fashion brand interested in some support or tips, or just want to connect with others in the same boat, we think www.startupfashion.com is definitely worth a visit!
