Kin Kin Bags

KIN KIN are a new independent bagwear label designed and made in Cardiff.  They claim to ‘make bags that bridge the gap between handbags and sneaker trends’.  We think they’re pretty clever and unique and thought we’d share the launch of their first range with you.

Set up by creative partners Michelle Wilkins and Andrew Chongsathien, the bags are designed to match your favourite kicks or high tops and can be worn in 5 different ways – handbag, shoulder bag, rucksack, bumbag and long bag.  Each bag has a bangle attached that you can swap or match to your outfit, as desired.

Every collection will be made in limited numbers, so they retain a degree of unique individualism.  Their first collection comes in five colourways inspired by some of their favourite sneakers.  They’re made at the Cardiff studio from “fire retardant, water resistant, ‘no cows harmed’ artificial leather with superior cotton drill linings. Great for evening abuse!” They retail for around £130 each.

Creative partners Michelle and Andrew agree: “Being a small brand, it’s exciting not knowing where things could take us and we’d like to grow more naturally and organically than by forcing things to happen.  We’ve got lots of thoughts and ideas that we would love to see happen in 2011.”
